Perversion squared: Degewo tenants foot the bill for Bielka’s pension.

Beware of the false prophets! They may look like sheep belonging to the flock, but in reality they are wolves out to prey. Deut 13,2; Jer 14:13; Matthew 24:11; Mt 24,24; Luke 6:43

A shocking sequence of events reveals the moral misbehaviour of a man who was in a position of responsibility. Frank Bielka, once State Secretary and later Degewo boss, agreed to a salary increase of 48% as a member of the Degewo Supervisory Board - a decision from which he himself would benefit as Degewo boss. Klaus Wowereit (SPD) made sure that Bielka lost his pension entitlements due to this "shameless intention of self-enrichment", and lo and behold: Degewo is taking over these lost entitlements. But how does Degewo finance itself? Through rent payments, including those whose health was seriously jeopardised by Bielka's decisions. Bielka had previously made grossly negligent decisions about the health and fate of thousands of tenants by deliberately concealing the danger of asbestos from them. In apartment blocks, some of which Degewo built itself. In 2000, Bielka saw no need to inform tenants about possible dangers, apparently without a shred of conscience. Drinking wine and preaching water seem to be deeply rooted in Bielka's soul.

In 2003, the "Bielka case" broke like a storm over the Berlin's political scene in. Frank Bielka, who previously served as State Secretary of Finance and later took over as head of the municipal housing association Degewo in Berlin became the centre of a scandal that revealed the full extent of unscrupulous self-service.

As a member of the Degewo supervisory board, he agreed to a worrying 48 per cent salary increase, only to benefit from this decision in his new position as a board member.

The outrage was understandably great, and politicians from all parties condemned Bielka's behaviour in the strongest possible terms. Discussions were sparked about appropriate lock-up periods for switching from politics to business and about the salaries of managers in municipal housing associations. Calls for transparency and accountability were louder than ever. But this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Bielka at the centre of the Degewo asbestos scandal

In 2000, however, there was another major scandal, but it mainly took place in private. The public only learnt about it much later, partly through our work. As State Secretary and a member of the Degewo Supervisory Board, Bielka saw no need to inform tenants of asbestos flats about the potential risks. Asbestos danger that they were exposed to in their homes.

What makes this story particularly disturbing is the way in which Bielka is profiting from rent payments, in some cases from affected Degewo asbestos tenants, to compensate for his lost pension entitlements. Klaus Wowereit (SPD) ensured that Bielka lost his pension entitlements due to his "shameless intention of self-enrichment" loses. However, Degewo decided, possibly under his influence, to compensate him for his lost pension entitlements.

An unimaginable irony that shows how unscrupulously power and influence can be abused to maximise personal gain, while the victims of one's own decisions are left to fend for themselves. be left in the lurch.

His actions revealed not only an incredible lack of responsibility towards the tenants, but also a frightening willingness to put financial gain above the health and safety of those entrusted to his care.

The "Bielka case" serves as a reminder and example of how urgently it is necessary to create mechanisms that can prevent such machinations. The victims of these unscrupulous acts deserve justice and a clear message to society: self-service at the expense of the weakest will not be tolerated.

In 2012, Bielka and his mate Christoph Beck published a book entitled:

"Responsibility for the city: contributions to a new togetherness"

It would be more appropriate:

"Responsibility for the city: pension contributions for a new togetherness"

Drink wine, preach water (whitewashing). This seems to be deeply rooted in Bielka's soul.

And then Bielka preaches his religion in various churches. Yes, now the whole thing makes sense.
