Degewo, a state-owned housing company that has deliberately exposed thousands of tenants to the risk of asbestos for decades (us, for example) is now renovating asbestos flats on his own initiative. That would be a bit like a drug addict running a rehab centre.
The State Office for Occupational Safety, Health Protection and Technical Safety has issued the necessary authorisation to the Degewo subsidiary "Degewo Technische Dienste GmbH (dTD)". Whether Degewo Technische Dienste GmbH will work conscientiously is questionable.
"Our expertise in asbestos removal will help us to optimally implement upcoming renovation projects," says the Managing Director. Yes, Degewo has very good expertise in the field of asbestos minimisation, so absolutely nothing can go wrong.
Sandra Wehrmann, Member of the Board of Degewo commented on the birth of this subsidiary with the following words:
"The health of our tenants is very important to us. We are also focussing on the removal of asbestos in the upcoming renovations within degewo's housing stock." Mrs Wehrmann, if you haven't been living on the moon for the last few years, you would know that what you are saying simply doesn't correspond to reality.
