A rather absurd conversation with degewo in autumn 2018:
TenantWhat pollutants are involved? Do you already have any suspicions?
degewo: We think that the pollutants are coming from the floor covering.
TenantIs it asbestos?
degewoWe don't know, so a sample has to be taken from the floor, which is then tested in a laboratory.
TenantBut what is the suspicion, asbestos?
degewoUnfortunately, we cannot make a precise statement until we have sent the sample to the laboratory. Your home is currently suspected of being contaminated.
Tenant: There are many different sheep substances - which ones are tested for?
degewoThe laboratory tests for all harmful substances.
TenantAnd which ones exactly?
degewoTo all possible. To all the pollutants in the world.
Tenant: mhm.
degewo: It is specifically analysed for harmful substances.
Tenant: ok.
degewoUnfortunately, no objective measurement can be carried out in an occupied state and we test for all possible pollutants. If possible, the test should also be carried out in the entire home so that we have a meaningful result.
Degewo avoided the word "asbestos" as much as possible. The specific question of whether it could possibly be asbestos was not addressed.
According to a soil expert, the claim that "we test for all the pollutants in the world" is absurd. You know in advance what you are testing for.
Although degewo knows exactly which flats are suspected of being contaminated with asbestos, tenants are being misled. It is hoped that nobody will find out about possible asbestos contamination.
It is also nonsense that the entire flat has to be emptied. That would mean that in flats suspected of containing asbestos, everyone would have to move out before the floors could be tested. In the end, the surveyor came to the fully furnished flat to test the floors for asbestos. Nothing else was tested for, only asbestos.

Hello,
I've been living in my new Degewo flat for two years - even in the street shown in the picture. I've had health problems since then, I've been diagnosed with respiratory problems and cardiac arrhythmia. I am 26 years old and had none of this before. What can I do to get my flat inspected? How do I go about it? Kind regards and thank you for your contribution!
